Quality Chekd Dairies Honors Sunshine Dairy Foods with the Irving B. Weber Award for Quality Excellence

Quality Chekd Dairies announced that Sunshine Dairy Foods of Portland, Oregon, is the 2009 recipient of the Irving B. Weber Distinguished Award for Quality Excellence. This top award honors Sunshine with a distinctive trophy and $25,000 check for their efforts in earning the highest scores of all Quality Chekd members in customer satisfaction, production quality, business ethics, leadership, staff development and marketing communications.

Quality Chekd, a member-owned organization of independent dairy processors, presented the Weber Award to Sunshine Dairy Foods at its 2009 QCS Leadership Conference held April 19-22nd at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center in Kansas City, MO. Named for Quality Chekd’s first board president, the invitation-only Weber Award is modeled after the esteemed Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award from the U.S. Department of Commerce.

In addition to being named Weber Award winners, Sunshine brought home four Marketing Excellence Awards, Quality Excellence Awards for Cultured Dairy Products, and both Portland production facilities were recognized with Plant Assessment Excellence. Additionally, Sunshine Natural Egg Nog was the tasters' favorite.
Sunshine Dairy Foods has served the Northwest fresh, rBST-free dairy products since 1936, and has been a member of Quality Chekd Dairies since 1981.
