Free, Non-Technical, Energy Savings Programs for Customers of Portland General Electric

For Portland General Electric customers PGE is hosting a series of free, non-technical, energy saving programs that can bring positive financial impact to your bottom-line..

These programs – presented in Portland, Wilsonville, and Salem – are designed to provide better understanding of the basics of energy conservation and energy efficiencies from which your business can add to your bottom-line.

Programs of potential interest to you and your business include:

  • Basics of Electricity & Managing Energy Costs
    Salem, January 27; Portland, January 28, 2010
    This free half-day seminar provides an overview of electricity concepts and the components of a utility electrical system, from generation to distribution. It offers strategies for making the most of your energy dollar and minimizing the impact of power disruptions.
  • Monitoring Load Shape for Energy Savings
    Salem, February 9; Wilsonville, February 11, 2010
    This free half-day seminar will help you understand what the energy experts look for in your load shape to analyze the use of energy in your business. Experts will show you how to use the meter “interval data” to look for savings opportunities.
  • Commercial (Freon) Refrigeration Systems
    Wilsonville, February 23, 2010
    This free half-day seminar covers elementary Freon-related refrigeration concepts and introduces various energy efficiency techniques that, when properly applied, can save on energy costs. The instructor is a highly qualified industry expert and will address the latest refrigerant issues, efficiency measures, and equipment options.
  • HVAC, Building Tune-Up & Commissioning
    Portland, March 10; Salem, March 11, 2010
    This free half-day seminar focuses on how to optimize your building’s performance.
