Association Announces First-of-its-kind Online Interactive Food Handler Training and Certification Program
April 27, 2009 – Wilsonville, OR
With dramatic changes using innovative interactive training techniques, Oregon Restaurant Association launched its newest version of online training products – the Food Handler Training and Certification program. A first-of-its-kind, the online food handler training and certification includes audio, video, animation and in-course quizzes to insure employees are receiving the best training possible.
ORA President and CEO Steve McCoid lauded the program noting "employees utilizing this dynamic new product will retain knowledge they gain much better, and thus be able to apply it to the workplace in a more effective manner."
McCoid added "the new, interactive program is light years better than the old program ORA was using, and which other training sources are using...that was basically an online copy of a training text."
The online program offers 24/7 accessibility providing greatest convenience for employees needing to take the test on their schedule and not a trainer’s schedule. In addition, the program’s certification is valid statewide, and employees can print their food handler certificate immediately upon completing the training, offering fast turnaround if certification is needed quickly.
Those needing to achieve initial certification or renew current certification can access the new training and certification program online at: www.ora.org/education/education_FHonline.htm.
